The University College of Christian Churches for Teachers Education Vienna/ Krems (KPH) was founded in 2007 and it belongs to Austria's largest private university college for teacher education. The layout as a university college for preservice teacher education, teacher professional development, and advanced teacher training- leads to the best possible professionalization of teachers in all pedagogical contexts including religious education. In Europe, the university college is unique regarding its ecumenically oriented approach, because it fosters successfully the cooperation of the seven Christian Churches – Roman Catholic, Protestant Augsburg Confession and Reformed Confession, Greek-Orthodox, three Oriental Christian Churches, and Old Catholic Church.

The churches act as stakeholders of the college while maintaining their independent identity. Moreover, the university college cooperates with the association of Free Churches, Islamic, Alevi, Jewish and Buddhist institutions in training programs for teachers of religious education aiming the goal to stimulate interfaith competencies.

The study program of KPH includes teacher education for primary and secondary education (general education), a bachelor's degree program in elementary education and teacher education. Furthermore, the university college offers an extensive program for in-service teacher education and advanced teacher training, academic training programs leading to a Master’s Degree, additional training programs, and supervision for school development programs. Due to the three practice schools (two elementary schools and one middle school) that are part of the university, students are offered practice-oriented training and research opportunities as part of their studies.

The KPH Research and Development Department focuses on the supervision and support of national and international projects carried out by staff members of the university. It provides individual advice and helps to strengthen the researchers' networking in their teams, competence centers and collaborative projects. It ensures quality control through research proposals, feedback procedures and specific staff development programs. Collaboration with students and better integration of research, teaching and teaching practice are central concerns.

The County School Inspectorate Brasov is a local public authority headed by a General Inspector. Its main aim is to implement at the local level the educational policy of the Romanian Ministry of Education. It coordinates and guides the educational process in the pre university educational units in the county - consisting of 165 schools with over 84.000 pupils enrolled, and over 8000 teachers, both in urban and rural areas.

The County School Inspectorate Brasov coordinates the managerial activity of the county pre university school net-work, providing the qualified teaching staff and personnel for the subordinate institutions, monitoring and offering them counseling and support. It is permanently assessing the correct implementation of the national curriculum readjusting and adapting annually the educational offer of the county schools to meet the demands of the ever changing socio-economic realities, in keeping with the highest standards of the European system of education.

The County School Inspectorate Brasov is permanently identifying new methods and modern strategies, according to the highest European educational standards, to ensure equal access to education and social inclusion, to reduce absenteeism and school dropout, early school leaving. This assumes the mission of ensuring an adequate and qualitative response from the pre-university education institutions in the county in order to increase the chances of success of future graduates, ensuring their development of life skills and abilities and leading to a decrease in functional illiteracy. The County School Inspectorate coordinates and monitors the activity in 9 educational clubs, where extracurricular, cultural, and sports activities are carried out, free of charge, in pupils' free time.

The County School Inspectorate also coordinates and monitories the activity of Teachers Center (responsible for continuous teachers training), County Resource and Educational Assistance Center (responsible for psycho-logical counseling, school guidance, and the integration of children with special needs in mainstream schools), and County center for excellence in education (which provides additional training to children with outstanding results in different fields). The Karlsruhe University of Education, pursues the goal of strengthening the digitisation-related skills of students studying to become teachers in a sustainable and systematic manner. The distinctive profile of the Karlsruhe University of Education with its approximately 3,100 students in the teacher training programmes for primary and secondary school and approximately 400 from non-teaching teacher training bachelor and master programmes as well as 200 people working in science and academia is complemented by a focus on MINT, multilingual education and heterogeneity as well as an active teaching-learning culture. The Karlsruhe University of Education is a comparatively small university, but this has a number of advantages.

On the one hand, it enables cooperation between teachers in subject didactics, subject science, educational science and school practice "on a short path" and direct contact between students and professors. Moreover, the size of the Karlsruhe University of Education makes it possible to closely link teaching, research, development and practice, characterised by educational processes in and outside of school. The Institute for Education provides initial and continuing professional development in education that inject 21st century skills and competencies into educators at all levels of education and educational leadership with the aim of fostering equity and social justice in all learning programs. The Institute adopts a learner-centered approach for its course participants, who will eventually become future educators who will embrace this philosophy within their classrooms. It works to inspire educators through the professional learning courses it designs and offers, and augurs for a cascading effect, whereby educators inspire learners to cultivate an inquisitive, critical and creative mind.

The outcome is to provide a structured, coherent and comprehensive professional development system by moving away from traditional methodologies and adopting a more transformative stance, which leads educators to maximize on professional learning and take responsibility for their own development.

The Institute for Education was originally set up as an Institute in April 2015 by virtue of Legal Notice 140 of 2015, and as amended in Legal Notice 240 of 2015. The Institute was then reconstituted as an Agency by virtue of Legal Notice 243 of 2017. The Institute for Education is licenced by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority as a Higher Education Institution in accordance to the Second Schedule of Subsidiary Legislation 327.433. It offers accredited programmes at EQF levels 4–7, which are targeted at individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in education. It currently has 37 full-time and part time staff members and 230 course participants enrolled in qualifications at Bachelor and Master level. The Institute for Education is committed to the key principles of equity and social justice and strives to enhance the accessibility of professional learning for all educators. It does so through programs that offer a multifaceted learning experience to course participants through a mixture of face-to-face sessions, online and blended learning approaches. It also invests in life-long learning to cultivate skills and competences, which enable individuals to rise to the challenges posed by an ever-changing society.

It fosters a philosophy whereby course participants are encouraged to explore their own potential, whilst also empowering them to achieve personal and collective growth.
